Belize City man shot in the chin

A shooting incident last night in Belize City has left one man injured.  The victim has been identified as forty eight year old Lionel Myles, a resident of Amara Avenue in Belize City. According to police reports, Myles and four other men were playing dominoes in an alley not far from the victim’s house around eleven o’clock last night when two men ran into the alley from the direction of Amara avenue.  Police say that when the men reached about fifteen feet away from Myles and his companions, one of the assailants fired his weapon, hitting Lionel Myles on the chin.  While processing the crime scene, police say they found one expended 16-gauge cartridge.  No one has been arrested in connection with last night’s shooting and the police department is asking for the public’s assistance in apprehending the two assailants.  Information that may lead officers to the culprits in this latest shooting should be called in to the Crime Stoppers hotline at 0-800-922-4877 of the nearest police station.
